An unexpectedly brutal workweek involving covering for someone else meant I’m not more behind than ever! I have to finish up some Pairanormal stuff and fix a few more bugs before I start making the new maps. BBP is getting closer to completion day by day.

Artistic Works
Koops and Chicken are getting me new enemy art and character emotes. Urimas is getting me new enemy frames and ability icons. Hund is almost done the area overlays for chapter 5. Trucking along.
Slow week for coding, as I spent half of it out of town. Bug fixes and scenario improvements resume as of today. Still cleaning up a bug backlog from those darn testers.

Chicken and Koops have been putting together the new concepts for chapter 1. We’ve got a month at least of new patron bonus stuff, and this first week it’ll be the new werecat enemy!
Urimas made a sheet of all the gems that will be in the game (the gems that can be combined, anyway) and Hund is 4-5 more area notifiers away from being done.
I am – still – working on bugfixes, because hoo boy there were a lot of bugs. Every time I fix some, more pop up. But I’m pretty close.
Pyxxis and I spent a couple hours hashing out the enemy list and figuring out enemy stats. Whenever I’m done with the bugs I can start plugging stats in.

Chickenwhite came back from vacation and immediately sent me a) a picture of a tired dog and b) a new enemy. Patrons get to see the new enemy today!

Koops has been concepting up a storm of various add-on enemies that appear alongside monstergirls but are not playable forms.
Also Urimas made a bunch of icons and stuff but whatever.
I’ve finished all the Big Balance Patch mechanical upgrades. I’ll post a comprehensive list at some point, but for now: I’m fixing the hordes of bugs that followed. Everything from items disappearing when you save to not allocating enough space for string pointers (thanks Aaaac) to field abilities needing wider hitboxes, I’m fixing it ALL baby.

Chicken is on vacation for another week and Koops is doing some commissions. Stinkehund is most of the way through chapter 5’s area overlays, and Urimas is currently making me icons for all the new gems we’re going to have.

Coding Stuff
I completed the translation for Alfine’s Diary this week! You can get it here. It’s not 100% complete, as it has some leftover literals and there are some weird bugs due to the SRPG engine that make a full translation impossible. It is playable though.
I also have (mostly) completed the save/load system for the Big Balance Patch. I have a few more things to add before saving/loading goes to testers.

Chicken has not decided on the music yet, but is working away at the animation. Urimas is getting me icons.
Koops just got me another chapter 2 concept (which you might get to see later if you’re good). Stinkehund was panicking about chapter 5’s overlays as always.
Artist Chickenwhite likes animating things. Without me even asking, she wants to make an animated transformation promo of a bouncing Mei transforming into her chapter 1 monster forms.

The theme is transformation, and with each new beat, a new one will occur. Now the only thing missing is the other most essential part of an animated meme – the music. And because we work backwards in here in Chicken’s brain, that part has yet to be found.
Which brings us to how YOU – yes, you, Chris (your name probably isn’t Chris, but it was worth it to mess with the Chris’s of the world)- can help us finish this project. Pick a song for this thing! The only requirements are that it be catchy, that it fit the animation, and preferably, that it isn’t already used for another popular animated meme. With that said, send your suggestions, please! I – Chicken – shall be awaiting them anxiously!

Low-productivity week last week, as I had a lot of day-job shifts. I should be done my work on Pairanormal today or tomorrow, and then it’s time to make saving and loading work again in Pandemonium.

Koops completed a concept that is important but you won’t be seeing for a while. Chicken is working on that promo-art and then it’s extra enemies for chapter 1. Urimas is doing tiles and stuff. Hund got me the updated Florentina emotes.
I finally got off my ass and made a TFGS entry for it, so if you missed it last time you can get it this time. Petrificator says he’s working on chapter 3, but who knows when that will happen.
I am also going to be translating Alfine’s Diary and Ruins Exploration. Alfine’s Diary has some serious problems with its SRPG engine, though, so it may have to be an incomplete translation.
Coding
Field abilities are in the game, appearing next to the stamina bar. You can quickly change field abilities from a hotmenu and can use them regardless of current form.
They range from the werecat Deadly Jump which allows you to start a battle with the enemies being stunned, to the ghostly Wraithform that makes you invisible to enemies for 5 seconds, to Scout Sight:
Which zooms out the camera so you can see further! There are a few more field abilities in chapter 1 and many more to be had in other chapters, but these will do for now.
I needed field abilities for the puzzles in chapter 2, but since I ripped everything out for the Big Balance Patch, may as well put them in now right?
Next up, I have some Pairanormal work to do, and then I’ll be putting some more touches in to combat, such as getting the doctor bag to work, allowing level ups, and maybe getting the saving system to work again.

Florentina’s new job, Mediator, has a very fetching shoulder sash. Otherwise, the artists are doing their thing. I’ll be spacing out the new enemy and character concepts over the next few weeks as we get things set up for release.
I have finished Florentina’s abilities and am presently upgrading the combat interface and fixing the (large amount) of (obvious) bugs. I want to get Field Abilities implemented this week before I have to work on Pairanormal for a few days.
The Big Balance Patch is already looking pretty darn good!

Koops has delivered a concept for a new character in chapter 1 – Miho the Kitsune Bounty Hunter! Patrons get to see her this week!
Urimas has fixed his computer and is making sprites because he’s a spriter and that’s what they do.
Hund has made some… modifications to Florentina’s wardrobe.
Florentina has two new classes, Mediator and Treasure Hunter. Rather than take Chicken away from her work designing enemies and updating the shading, I got Hund to add a hat so you can tell them apart.
Here we can see the area transitions that will be present in the Big Balance Patch for chapter 1. These show up when you first enter a new area and are present in the top right during normal gameplay to give you a better idea of where you currently are, meaning you don’t need to keep rechecking the map.
What’s This? A Chapter 2 Story?
That’s right, as part of the Save Sinpai Stream, I got a 10$ commission from Aaaac, world-famous author of Monsters of the Forest. It’s a story featuring Sanya and Izuna from chapter 2!

Sealed Stone Maiden, a Japanese game by Petrificator, has gotten a 1.16 release (Twitter thread here). Why am I posting about it here?
Because I translated it! That’s right, the game is now available in English. You can download it here.
I will be putting up a TFGS entry later on (the author is currently working on bugfixes, so I’m giving him some time for that), but you can play it start to finish right now. I can’t translate the addons and some of the text is messed up as a result, but the game is very playable.
The game contains petrification, freezing, goldenization, metalization, getting turned into a doll, getting covered in rubber, and really cute girls I mean come on. Look at Celine.

I hope to be done Pairanormal’s first pass by as early as tomorrow, possibly Wednesday, at which point it’s back to Pandemonium coding for me.

Chicken has delivered one of the new enemy concepts for chapter 1 and is going to be getting me some of the new NPCs. Koops has delivered some chapter 2 concepts and will be working on one of the new chapter 1 NPC concepts as well.
Urimas’ computer blew up and is in the shop for fixin’, so he’s out until at least Thursday. Stinkehund is working on chapter 5’s area transitions.
